Rogse Wieken is a varied new residential area on the eastern edge of Hooge Mierde, bordering Leendestraat. On this side of the village, the extension forms the new village edge. A seamless link with the existing village and harmony with the surrounding landscape are central here. Thanks to the organic urban layout, the surrounding landscape is literally drawn into the neighbourhood, creating a smooth transition between village and countryside. Towards Leendestraat the neighbourhood is at the same time oriented to a pleasant, natural connection with the existing district.

The housing offer is diverse, with room for starter homes, family houses, and adaptable “lifetime” homes.

The overall plan comprises approximately 90 homes and will be built in phases. In phase 1 we are building 40 homes, 10 of which are social rental homes for WSZ.

Hooge Mierde is located west of Reusel and is surrounded by nature reserves such as Zwartven. The drifting dune at Zwartven is the second highest point in Brabant and is a protected natural monument on a high sandy ridge. North of Hooge Mierde you'll find the Welleneindse Heide and the De Utrecht estate, also a beautiful nature reserve.

Education

Children aged 4 to 12 can attend the village's De Akkerwinde primary school. Pius X College in nearby Bladel is the largest school in the Kempen region, offering all disciplines under one roof: from practical education to pre-university education (VWO).

Hooge Mierde is located in the Kempen region, a region near Eindhoven offering a wealth of culture, leisure, and sports. Its proximity to the Belgian border also offers plenty to explore.

The architect speaks

The architecture seamlessly blends with the village character of Hooge Mierde. The neighborhood is characterized by coherence in massing and roof forms, with traditional gable roofs with generous overhangs defining the streetscape. Within this coherence, there is room for variation: each sub-area creates its own identity through differences in materials and facade layout. The varying use of brickwork alternates with the use of wood, in wooden facade surfaces and/or accents. This results in a lively and diverse streetscape that fits perfectly within the existing village structure on the edge of the village.
